This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Science of Reading is a new technique for teaching reading to our younger students. The science in Science of Reading means there is research and evidence to support conclusions by educational researchers and scientists. There are many new ideas out there, and they have been working well in my classroom. Items from Teachers pay Teachers have been used and created and are some of the best Science of Reading material. There have been new sources for guided reading books, hands-on phonics with word building, and writing. I used a piece from a SOR packet I purchased, and the kids loved it and said it was fun.

These SOR materials have been Kindergarten Approved.
