Our school is a K-1 building, which means that we have about 430 little humans between the ages of 5-7 years old! We are also a Title 1 building with 75-80% of our students receiving Free and/or Reduced Lunch. The students that attend our school live within the district boundaries, as well as, in neighboring communities and cities.
Our school is a building full of boundless energy and miles of smiles and giggles.
The future teachers, engineers, doctors, writers, and dreamers of our time are being educated within the walls of Bedford Elementary School. The children come to school eager to learn and excited for any new learning adventure that awaits them.
Many of our families have daily struggles that range from being newly immigrated, lacking permanent housing, as well as maintaining steady employment. However, at the heart of it, many of the families that have children attend our school have only one concern and that is that their children are offered, and have a better life.
My Project
Young children learn abstract concepts; Empathy, Kindness, Good Manners, Honesty, etc... best through looking and reading a variety of books on a given topic, as well as, listening to books being read to them.
Children that are 5-6 years old love to have alternative flexible seating available to them in order for them to satiate their sensory needs.
Flex Space Comfy chairs allow this flexible seating with still denoting personal space for those children.
Giving children access to these products will enhance their learning, as well as, enable them to grow and develop socially and emotionally in a classroom setting.
