My Students
My students come ready to learn with a love for learning despite their challenges. We are a Title 1 preschool program for students who are low-income, English language learners, or struggle in the areas of cognitive, social, or emotional abilities. Our school's population qualifies for 69% free and reduced lunch and represents 18 countries with 24 native languages.
90% of a preschool's brain develops by the time the go to kindergarten.
My goal is to provide them with high quality experiences through engagement, exploration, and purposeful play.
My Project
With a market stand, furniture, and baskets, the children will be able to enhance their knowledge of different professional roles and experiences with units such as Bakery, Auto Shop, Animal Hospital, Grocery and Pet Store during center time. The market stand and furniture will be used for each theme that is related to our curriculum and Missouri Early Learning Standards.
Children will engage and problem solve to extend their learning through collaboration and cooperative play through math, literacy, science, and social studies.
In order to start adding these units of study to our dramatic play area, we need the support of additional furniture. These materials will make a direct impact on learning through social interaction and role playing.
