The school I teach at is truly one-of-a-kind. It is located in a small community outside of Pittsburgh. The school houses around 200 students of all socioeconomic backgrounds. For a lot of our students, school is the best part of their days where they get to be around people that care about them and make them feel happy.
My second graders come to school ready to learn, interact, collaborate, and ask questions.
These characteristics in my students make coming to school each day full of possibilities.
My Project
We tend to go through a lot of paper-whether it be as scratch paper for math, writing words, or jotting ideas down. It would be great if we could help our planet by saving some paper and using a reusable writing tablet. That's where Boogie Board writing tablets would be so awesome to implement into my 2nd grade classroom.

They are like an endless sheet of paper which can be scribbled on over and over again and can be erased with a single button.
This electronic writing board can be used in the classroom to solve math problems, spell words, build words for phonics, summarize a story, prewrite, and many other things in the classroom. Whatever students use paper for, they can use these instead. The tablets can also cultivate children's creativity and let them freely use their imagination to draw and doodle!
These would be a welcome addition to our classroom. I'm always looking for fun and different materials to enhance and change up learning and to reach different learning styles.
