Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are an amazing, vibrant collection of enthusiastic artists in a Title I, inner-city, coastal Connecticut community where 100% of our students receive free lunch, and there never seems to be an end to other urgent needs.
We welcome many immigrants and transient families to our community and engage students as they navigate every kind of emotional and social challenge that you can imagine.
Economic need is high, but creative passion is even higher!
Please help our creative and talented students touch the wonderful materials they need to thrive and explore.
My Project
I'm trying to visualize how I am going to be able to be mobile, effective, AND non-intrusive to the classroom teacher while teaching art-on-a-cart during COVID. This rolling whiteboard seems to be the best bet for being both portable and practical. I believe that we will be able to repurpose this portable display for future community gatherings as well. Our classroom whiteboards are small and time is tight between teaching periods. Needing to use precious board space on tight time is not going to be very comfortable for anyone. A dedicated whiteboard for Art will be a great way to create a boundary between the instructional segments as well. This project was created in response to Fairfield County Community Foundation grants on DonorsChoose. Fingers crossed.
