My Students

As an educational specialist at a small elementary school, my students come from a variety of different backgrounds and have a wide range of different needs. One thing all my students share is a love for technology and the different ways technology can be used to give them access to communication, curriculum, and fun!

All my students participate within the general education environment and in a separate special education classroom.

They all have an amazing love for learning and gaining access to new information through hands-on activities.

My Project

The Apple HomPod will add to the sensory area within our classroom environment. It will add to the overall excitement when presenting/developing digital content that students can then bring back to their general education classrooms and share with their peers.

The HomePod also creates an opportunity for students who struggle with the fine motor skills associated with typing to access the internet and utilize the "hey siri" option to research and explore new areas of content.

In addition to functioning as a research and sensory tool, the HomePod will also be utilized to play calming music for students when they struggle with emotional regulation.
