Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Special Education teacher in a primary school self-contained classroom. My classroom contains both 1st and 2nd grade students. My students perform on different cognitive and physical levels. My students come from a culturally diverse population in the northeastern corner of Alabama. The students attend a Title 1 school with 60% of the student population qualifying for free lunch.
Everyone loves book!
My goal with this project is to provide the students with different types of books from read alouds to sensory books that they can experience.
My Project
These new books will enrich my classroom library and allow my students access to the books. My students have different sensory needs and I have included books that they can touch and feel! They will experience books in a new way that they have not before.
My students love group read-aloud and new books!
This project will allow them me to read to the class all types of books covering a variety of different subjects. By adding sensory books, they will get to choose the book they like best and want to read. Every book is treated with love and care in our classroom.
