My Students

My students are amazing! We are a very small, lower socioeconomic elementary school in a very rural area. This is our third year with a STEM lab at our school. I see all students Pre-K through 5th grade. We are still learning as we go! I have been amazed at how well our students have taken to STEM education. They are very excited to try new challenges, create amazing designs, and team build in our classroom. The students have shown amazing determination when I give them challenging projects.

My students have grown to become more independent thinkers and investigators in just a short amount of time in the STEM lab.

They have surprised me with how many of them will refuse to give up and will work until they find another way to be successful.

My Project

These books will be used with Preschool children all the way up to 5th grade students! Books give children a connection to a real-world problem! Students can often relate to a character in the story! With these books, children will take the story and then turn the problem from the story into a STEM challenge!

Literacy and STEM go together perfectly!

The problems faced in the story often need real-world solutions! What better way for children to be engaged in their learning than through a problem solving STEM challenge!

These books are amazing examples of STEM literacy that will tie in perfectly with our standards and classroom topics!
