My students need books to help them see the world through reading, and headphones to help them use technology to do this, too! My students also need some basic fun class supplies.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Thank you for checking out our Donorschoose page! We are grateful that you're here and would love to tell you more about us.
The 3rd graders in our classroom are an amazing group of kids.
They are kind, generous, and eager to learn everything that they can! These students attend a Chicago Public School on the west side of the city, and everyday make the most of what they have. They are inventive, creative, and always ready to work together to learn. Together, we can give them learning tools that every kid deserves!
My Project
The headphones will help the students with their listening skills, as well as their technology skills. They have books online available for the students to hear, but 30 computers reading aloud at once can be very loud! The headphones will help create space where the students focus.
My students love hearing stories, and I love reading them!
It gives them a chance to see another world, to see what life is like for other people, and to reflect on their own lives. We need some books that help lead these discussions, which include some of my favorites from my own childhood.
We also need some basic classroom materials - like a pencil sharpener and markers.
