Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember learning about healthy eating? My students are just beginning to learn about how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
I currently teach 27 very sweet first graders in a Title I school located in a high poverty and high crime area in Pennsylvania.
All of my students receive free breakfast and free lunch. Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken.
My Project
I am requesting a variety of nutrition books for my first graders. I want them to learn about the various food groups. I would love for my first graders to write in their journals about what foods are good for you and which foods that they should avoid. I am also asking for healthy snacks and drinks for my 6 and 7 year old students so that they can experience healthy food and drinks.
Please help promote a healthy lifestyle in my classroom.
My students are just beginning to learn about nutrition. Please help my students be the best that they can be. These books, snacks and drinks would greatly benefit my little ones.
