This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

Hello and thank-you for taking the time to read my proposal. I am a pre-kindergarten teacher at a low-income elementary school in Charlotte, NC. Throughout my years of teaching, I have noticed that the boys in my class tend to shy away from the dramatic play area. Dramatic play is an area in the preschool classroom where children can role play and enhance their language and social skills. All of these skills are essential in order to be successful in and out of the school setting. In order to make this area more attractive and utilized by the boys in my classroom more, I wanted to add an assortment of clothing, props, and writing materials. These items will be beneficial to both the boys and girls by providing them with a variety of items to choose from instead of the typical dresses and high heels that are in this area at the present time. These items will also enhance their fine motor, language, and social skills as well. Thank-you for your time
