This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This year our school has adopted the team teaching method. I now have the joy of teaching over forty-five students math and science! My students are excited, creative and eager to learn. They love to be engaged in hands-on activities and actually take control of their learning. Due to funding, I am not always able to give them the opportunity to learn through activities. As a result we sometimes have to rely on the pencil and paper method.
Thank you!
My Project
Telling time, counting money, and place value are very important math skills for second graders to learn. It is something they will need throughout life to be successful adults. I would love to be able to give them hands-on learning by using a cash register to buy items and make change, and board games to help manage money as well as time. This would help give them real world situations so that they have a better understanding of how these skill will play a major part in their lives as they grow into adulthood. I am only able to make this happen through people like you, that care about the education of our children. Thank you!
