Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is made up of 18 eager to learn students. This is many of my students' first time in a school setting. My students live in a community that is a high needs, low-income area made up of hard-working parents who set amazing examples for their children. Many of the students do not have access to computers or updated technology at home.
My students want to learn and develop and understand what school is about while having fun.
With support, I will be able to bring in new, innovative ways to keep my students engaged.
With our school loosing close to a million dollars from the school budget for the 2018-2019 school year, we need your help now more than ever!
My Project
The materials that I am asking for are my students dramatic play centers. I am asking for baby dolls, clothing, a stroller, crib, and high chair so that my students can pretend that they are parents raising their families. I am also asking for food and pots and pans for their kitchen so they can pretend to cook, possibly inspiring these young students to become chefs. Lastly, I am asking for dress up clothing for the students in my class so they can "try on" different careers that they want for their future. With your help, my students will be able to continue to open their minds to all the possibilities the word has to offer for them.
