My students are a group of hard-working individuals. They are truly the best! We are from a low poverty area that is struggling economically. This is the same area and elementary school I grew up in. A lot of the students I have don't get an opportunity to get out and be exposed to the world. I work at the largest elementary school in the district, and I just want my students to be up to date and exposed to different types of technology.
My Project
I have requested several items to improve my students financial literacy skills. I want to set the scene for my students through real life hands on experiences. One of the materials I requested the Osmo Pizza Kit because it is an iPad based activity that students love. I know this has helped with their financial literacy and I am requesting one more.
Students will love learning financial literacy through role playing.
I also want to incorporate role playing for my students. I have requested a play store that is very realistic. This will allow students to role play going to the grocery store and paying for their items. It has play money and a cash register built in. This will allow for students to see and experience financial literacy but also have fun!
