My Students
A high poverty, highly linguistically diverse PreK-5th grade school is where I love to work every day. My students are English learners, special education students, and regular education students in an urban school district. They range in age from four to ten years old.
Our school is working to close the achievement gap through placing an emphasis on the fundamentals of technology, reading, writing, and arithmetic.
The students I work with want to learn and are so interested in the world around them, but, sometimes lack access to tools that will help them answer their questions.
My Project
The students are very active and love to play outside. Recess is a time for them to constructively use that energy. These playground balls and soccer balls will give the students the opportunity to play four square, kickball, and soccer during recess.
Recess is a fun time, but these playground balls will make recess even more fun for the students and allow them to play sports that they could not play before because they did not have the equipment.
These playground and soccer balls will be used by all students, so 300 students will be impacted by this project.
