Our student centric second grade class is comprised of energetic, motivated and an eager group of students! We have a diverse group of learners that represent cultures from around the world. They bring in a rich cultural diversity to our classroom community. At the beginning of the year, we are busy building long lasting and meaningful relationships with one another. As a whole class, we represent a community of lifelong learners! My students and I practice the concept of a "growth mindset" in our classroom.

My Project
Students feel empowered when they are provided with seating options in a classroom. They work best when they are comfortable and can move around in the classroom space. The wobble chairs allow my students to be able to move around freely and easily during individual as well as group work time. These chairs provide students with greater freedom and accessibility to find areas in the classroom where they can work successfully and productively.
Flexible seating provides our students with a choice of seating that allows them to wobble, bounce, lean and stand in the classroom while they work and learn.
This allows them to stay more focussed and attentive during instruction. My class students have a variety of learning styles. Providing them with a choice of seating helps them to be calm and engaged in class. Flexible seating allows students to get into groups quickly and collaborate more effectively with one another. The cushion helps students that need to wiggle in their chairs to be able to do so, thereby helping them focus in class while they move. There are so many benefits in providing my students with flexible seating options in the classroom. These wobble chairs and cushion will add a tremendous value to the learning in our classroom.
