My students need tape, storage bags and a storage drawer in order to increase organization and comfort within the classroom.

My students are just getting to know the wonderful school system that is the DPCS and I hope to instill the love of school in them. I love that they are open to this and that they come to school ready to learn and ready to grow with each new item I bring to them.
That is one of the greatest things about kindergarteners; they love to learn and they teach you right back.
Each time I enter my classroom, I not only expect to teach my students but I expect to learn from them as well. They have new perspectives and new ideas that I have never thought of, which help the class learn as a whole.
In my class specifically, we have peer-teaching time, where students group up and help each other in their learning laboratories to explore different topics. Even though there are different end goals we would like to the students to get to; they often end up in many different places than we imagined they could.
As a first year teacher, I don’t have a lot of materials at hand or a lot of tools under my belt. I want to make sure that my students will have a structured environment to come into each day and having labels, their own personal materials and some comfortable seating options will really help make the classroom their own.
The items I chose show their value by having multiple uses; something I’m sure everyone can resonate with.
Clipboards are useful for me because I do not have a table to conference with students at, so I will have to conference on the carpet with clipboards. Having comfortable seating for students will make it even better for when they join me away from the class.
Lastly, the label tape (which also doubles as good tape for helping my kindergarteners with spelling) and the rainbow cart helps me with my day-to-day lesson planning that will allow me to keep my day organized. When my materials are kept together and in one place, I am able to addresss my students’ needs more quickly and more efficiently.
