This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a small rural town. Many students are ESL and require modifications with special attention to reading and understanding. Not only do my ESL students need modifications, a lot of students reading below grade level require those same practices.

We are looking to increase our school moral and boost teamwork with positive vibes.

The students have an abundance of testing to do and need extra tools to be successful. We are trying to show our students that they can succeed if they have the right growth mindset. Every student has a need to fulfill; I want to be able to give them the opportunities to feel confident in succeeding.

My Project

This upcoming school year I will be moving from 3rd grade to 4th grade. Throughout the school year we will focus on a variety of novels. For the 4th graders, I would love to expose them to a part of World War History through a novel.

Number the Stars is an amazing novel to discuss not only history but standing up for oneself.

Our students need to be exposed to taking pride and making independent decisions. This novel will tie into that vision.

The goal is for every student to have their own book to follow along and fall into.
