Help me give my students an inviting/uplifting classroom which offers engaging hands-on indoor recess activities and games to stimulate and encourage imagination and play on cold and snowy days.
My students are so incredibly excited about learning and you can sure feel joy in the air when visiting us! Every day is a new day as we are feasting on the goodness of finally being able to attend "big kid" school! I feel so privileged to be met with bright eyes and smiles on a daily basis. To them, learning is magical and exciting and I work hard to create an inspiring, inviting classroom that encourages their curious little minds to ask questions and begin developing needed habits of "listening and doing" that help in preparing for a successful future as they begin their educational journeys. I am only in my second year teaching kindergarten and I find that all my students, regardless of differences in development, light up when being read to.
I can just see their brains at work as we read, question, answer and discuss.
They have such a love for learning that I want to do everything I can to keep them searching, wondering, thinking and positively participating in engaging reading and independent activities where they are stimulated cognitively, socially and emotionally.
My Project
As a third year kindergarten teacher, I am still working towards building my classroom in fun and exciting ways. I love to add color and positive affirmations through word and quotes. It's exciting for me to provide a home-like atmosphere where my students feel loved, safe and comfortable. I keep an organized room, therefore I'm always looking for ways to simplify the organization and cleanup process with little ones.
Kindergartners love to be read to and the bigger the books the better!
We also live in a cold winter climate and often requires recess indoors. I hope to provide indoor activities that are both fun, engaging and academically stimulating to promote imagination and the love of playtime!!
