Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Engaged, eager, enthusiastic, these are three words that I would use to describe the students at my school site. These students are engaged in their learning and will use all the resources available to them to gain a new and deeper understanding of a topic of electricity and roller coaster building.
"What are we doing to do today, Mr. N?"
"I can't wait for recess!"
"What can we play today?"
These are just a few of the quotes that are illustrations of how eager my students are to learn. As for their enthusiasm, there just does not seem to be the right word for how excited and thrilled these students are when it comes to learning new topics and ideas. The smiles on their faces and the pride in their hearts when they complete a project is just beyond words.
My Project
Our small school has nearly 250 active learners and students that love to play! We are in need of basketball nets, basketballs and soccer balls. This equipment will be used in our after-school sports program, training for our basketball and soccer teams as well as our daily recesses. Having plenty of equipment available for our students to play with. We all know that playing on the playground and in team sports improves health, promotes sportsmanship and allows students to learn new skills or improving current skills.
Each of us has great memories of playing games and sports at school.
Your donations to this grant will allow these students to create amazing memories and stay healthy!
