My Students

We teach the mandated core subjects but often times find it challenging to fit in the creative subjects, namely art. By integrating language arts and science with art, I will be able to expand the core subjects and develop my students' creative side.

I teach first graders in an urban school where many of my students come from low income homes or where English is a second language.

These students come to school with a thirst for knowledge, eager to learn. However, continuous budget cuts strip away basic supplies and make our jobs as educators even more challenging.

My Project

What a wonderful gift we can give to our students with art. With the addition of various items such as modeling clay, pastels, charcoal pencils, and paints, my students can produce artistic products to support our science and language arts units, using art and their creativity.

I do not want my students to be robbed of opportunities to develop their creative sides.

Donations of basic art supplies will help support their growth in that area. With your help my students will not only be exposed to science, reading, and art concepts; they will be able to immerse themselves and really experience these concepts in a hands-on way! You can be the one who helps to make a difference in these children's academic lives! Thank you.
