Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students all have intellectual disabilities. This means they love their routines, have trouble with social interaction, and have difficulty communicating. Most of them don't have any functional communication skills

They all have intellectual disabilities, but they are so much more than that.

Just like everybody else, they have people they love, food that they hate, clothes they won't wear, and games they love to play. It takes a little while to get to know them, but it is well worth the effort. They have brought so much love and joy into my life!

My Project

My kids need some out-of-the-box things to do. These items will be interesting for my kids and make school more fun! The file folders are already made so teachers and staff can spend more valuable time directly interacting with students and less time doing paperwork. The students use the core curriculum every day and need new ways to see things and learn things. When school is more fun kids learn more. Many of these items address direct functional needs of the kids in a new more engaging manner.
