Let's Make Math, Writing, and STEM Engaging With Basic Supplies
Help me give my students Math, Writing, and STEM centers with Basic Classroom Supplies. It is my first year teaching first grade and I am creating an engaging environment through lots of hands on activities.
Our school is located in a small, rural district located approximately 20 miles from any services. My elementary school and the district are located on the same site and serve approximately 155 students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Our district is a unique district as it has a large geographic area with a small, scattered population. It is the largest district, geographically, in our county. I have a unique group of students including those with low incomes, military, and diverse backgrounds.
My Project
It is my first year teaching first grade and I am seeking some classroom basic supplies to help my students every day. I am printing many amazing math activities and setting up writing centers and creating reusable bins which requires color ink and cardstock. These will be laminated and used year after year.
I create as many environmentally friendly re-useable bins which cuts down on printing and paper costs long term.
This requires cardstock and lots of expo markers. We also need a new electric pencil sharpener and hand sharpeners for colored pencils. We use plenty of pencils and erasers and glues in our every day learning. My students love building and we use stem bins for basic engineering. Donations for these basics are greatly appreciated! Also, these bins will be reused year after year which is better for the environment than worksheets that are used once.
