Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My scholars are exceptional individuals that are working diligently towards meeting their reading goal through two different reading programs called Read 180 and System 44. My scholars encompass a desire to enjoy reading, as well as learn useful reading strategies to implement in their daily lives. My scholars are eager to learn everyday, and manifest their individual talents and capabilities through the work the produce on a daily basis. My program supports scholars by providing academic focus, as well as interaction and collaboration among myself and my scholars.

Each scholar is provided digital support to help work through challenges, while individualized technology provides immediate feedback , and fosters comprehension to build a sense of success. Technology also guides scholars to digital and print texts at their reading level, which enables them to transfer reading competence to texts they enjoy and gain interest in.
Scholars also focus on reading texts that are aligned with their lexile reading level, and allows them to engage in reading, as well as learn new vocabulary and comprehension skills.
My Project
Flexible seating carries an array of benefits to help scholars work productively. It makes learning fun, and increases a positive mindset. I am looking provide a more active, engaged, enthusiastic, and relaxed room for my scholars. My scholars will also feel a sense of ownership by making the room "ours", rather than "my room", which will encourage my scholars to invest more time into their education.
Flexible seating can also increase stimulation and help scholars focus and process information.
The yoga balls will be specifically used for scholars with ADD and ADHD, in order to give them the opportunity to keep both sides of their brains engaged while working. I hope that my project will allow my classroom to be conducive to open collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. This simply cannot be done when kids are sitting in rows of desks all day.
