A typical day in my classroom involves many kids coming in and out of my room. Students get to see me to work on their speech and language needs!
The students I have the pleasure of working with have speech and language delays.
I get to assist them by giving them strategies and working with them to acquire certain skills. To reach my students and to truly have an impact on them, I must come up with innovative ways to teach concepts.
My Project
My students need engaging card games, toys and games such as Spot It, Frog in a Box and Wacky-tivities that work on targeting IEP goals. These materials will help my students learn new skills. You may think it's a silly game or toy, but I see that the benefits are much more. I can have students work on requesting appropriately, differentiating objects, describing items, taking turns, etc. These concepts may seem like no-brainers, but they do not come naturally to all!
The materials I am asking for will make a huge difference in my classroom!
My students are much more engaged when the activity is more desirable. I will be able to sneakily add learning concepts for the students to practice when they are using these cards, games and toys without them knowing!
