Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My student-athletes are individuals who are learning what high school sports are all about. There is some interest in playing a sport at the middle school level, but equipment, time, and quality coaches sometimes can hinder their development and knowledge of the game. Some students wait a few years before trying out and are behind others who have played the game before.
My athletes are looking forward to becoming better soccer players.
Not knowing how to play has not stopped this group from giving it their all on the field! They are a group of hardworking individuals who want to learn and for that I am proud to be their coach.
My athletes are leaders on the campus and they represent our school by being courteous, committed, helpful, and safe.
My Project
We are a Title I school, where the emphasis on sport-specific equipment is not a focus. We are looking to develop these student-athletes into well-rounded players and give them the opportunity to grow their skills.
This equipment will give the players opportunities to develop their skills beyond what they have been taught.
They will be able to keep making progress on what we have shown them and start to make plays that they will be able to take and use in a game situation.
The student-athletes are looking to become better and want to work hard in order to get to the next level, by using this equipment it will help them refine and grow their footwork and ball control to be able to do so.
