Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

It is important that when students get to be creative and make special projects to share in the class or take home to show their parents, that these projects are protected. My students take extra pride in their work and I want to help them preserve them for a long time.

My students are energetic kindergrtners who come from a low socioeconomic community in California.

They are enrolled in a school district that is designated as being in fiscal distress. What this means for them is that resources for the classroom are lacking due to lack of funds. A laminator is a huge time saver because once something has been laminated, it lasts for years and we do not have to keep creating the same items. I think many people agree that the time of a teacher is priceless! My students love to look at, hear and read a variety of books. We make books on important Civil Rights Leaders in our country. I use the old fashion way of just staple their books. The book binding machine will help me bind the classroom books in a more sophisticated way. These books can be enjoyed by them when they go to the classroom library. I can also help them put together individual books that they can take home to share with their loved ones.

My Project

The resources requested for this project will help in so many ways. A laminator is such an incredible resource because of the preservation of work and materials. My students can create something and protect it by laminating it; once laminated, it is protected from water/moisture, stains, and marks from pens and markers. Not only can we protect student work, we also can protect classroom resources that hang on the word walls, flashcards and dry erase practice materials that can be used over and over again by my kindergrtners. I think many people agree that the time of a teacher is priceless! A laminator is a huge time saver because once something has been laminated, it lasts for years and teachers do not have to keep creating the same items. The book binding machine will also help me put students work into amazing books that they can share and keep forever.

The laminator, pouches, plastic binding and book binding machine will be used to preserve student work.

Who can put a price on pride and ownership? Preserving their work and making books out of all their creations will show them for years to come how great it was to be a part of our classroom. With your gracious donation each child will be able to document and show their creations for years to come.
