This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Do you remember how proud you were as a child to see your work displayed? Well my students will get to decorate math bulletin boards around our school and decorate our hallways with math related posters.
My students are at risk students who attend a magnet program.
They are required to maintain B's in their core classes and magnet program. Many are ESE students who do really well with hands-on learning and activities. These students attend a Title 1 school.
My Project
It will be an opportunity for my students to take math concepts and turn them into bulletin boards to teach other students. They will also have an opportunity to make posters for my math classroom and other classrooms. This will allow them to share their knowledge with other students. The donations of paper, markers, bulletin board supplies, and simple markers will greatly assist in this.
It is important for all students to do hands-on projects.
This is been proved to help students retain more information. It's also a great way for them to share their knowledge throughout our school.
