My Students

My students live in Colorado, in a northern suburban area of Denver. We are a public school and therefore funding for unique ideas is lacking. Despite our lack of funding, the students are able to work hard and achieve amazing levels. Like many other classrooms across the nation, we strive to create a classroom environment that enhances learning so that children can reach their full potential.

These students are reaching great heights in spite of the limited funding.

As teenagers, they're yearning for opportunities to be active, not only mentally, but physically as well. They need an opportunity to move about.

My Project

Junior Scholastic is a beautiful way for students to engage with the world around them learning about current events in our own country and abroad that they may not otherwise encounter. Additionally, they often have ties to historic events which we can then connect to our United States history lessons. If we can combine that with the power of voice they have with Pear Deck, then we can really take them to a new level. We can have students share their reactions to the news; Pear Deck will allow every student a voice rather than the few who want to share regularly.
