Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have an amazing class of curious and tenacious learners. My students come from low-income areas and low socio-economic backgrounds. One hundred percent qualify for free breakfast and lunch. The majority are English learners. They show up every day eager for more knowledge.

When my students come to school, they give their best effort, and it shows in their progress!

As a school, we lack many everyday school supplies, and many parents cannot afford to buy their children essential supplies for school. We provide students with a warm, supportive environment. They work so hard, and we want them to succeed!

My Project

In kindergarten, we begin to study movement and understand our bodies. Students use PE time to master balancing, skipping, jumping, and other kinesthetic skills. We do this in many ways, and the more fun and creative the better!

My students have an abundance of energy, and they will use these jump ropes, playground balls and other supplies to release that energy and learn to love movement!

We will use the balance stepping stones to work on stability. Obstacle courses are going to be used by students to improve their agility. Students will create these courses.

We will use the agility ladders to work on our dexterity by practicing daily warm-ups. Students will lead different drills, giving them a chance to demonstrate leadership skills.

It is important for students to find ways they enjoy moving, so that it can become part of their lifestyle. A body that moves is one that grows strong! We will make movement fun with different challenging activities, and fun games! These supplies will help to make students look forward to PE time!
