Our elementary students grow and learn at a Pre K-5 rural elementary school. Being in a rural community, we would like to bring opportunities that they may not be exposed to otherwise. They are wonderful children who are eager to expand their experiences and minds. We are partners in our journey through the years they spend with us.
Being a part of their journey, I have learned from my many years of teaching that students need to be connected to what they are learning.
My Project
The Botley robobts will help me introduce my kindergartners to the world of coding. It will provide hands on and minds on experiences that they would only enhance their learning journey. I believe by providing these opportunities for my kindergartners, they will build and strengthen very important skills like persistence, cooperation, problem solving, and critical thinking.
"The expert at anything was once a beginner," a quote attributed to the late actress Helen Hayes reflects what my kindergartners are at this point in their educational journey.
By having these resources available for them, maybe there will be some future expert coders in the making.
