My Students

Our school is in a high poverty school district. The school is a Title I school as well, with all students receiving free lunch. Our school is comprised of approximately 275 students, including preschool.

My students are in a class for differentiation for the normal curriculum.

My students range in ages from Kindergarten to 5th grade, with all of those being of varying abilities. My students have some awesome abilities and talents and can amaze individuals, as well as me on a daily basis.

My Project

My students need reading manipulatives such as stack and build phonics books, touch and read phonics match, and alphabet dice in order to help them understand beginning reading skills involving phonics. Touch and read phonics books and stack and build phonics flip books will give students understanding of beginning words. Alphabet dice will help the students understand phonemic awareness as well as starting to make small words. The items I am requesting are both for beginning and intermediate phonics learners. I know my students love getting to use new items in the classroom and I think they would love to get new rereading supplies. What better way to learn than to learn with new fun items? All individuals like to be entertained while learning, so why would we want our students to learn in any other way? Let's make learning phonics fun and introduce reading as FUN for a complete lifetime.
