Our low, income, rural students come from a variety of home lives and reading levels. Many of our students have limited opportunites to travel to experience the world around them!
What I love most about is that our students don't let these limited opportunities stifle their enthusiasm to learn about the world around them through reading!
My students enter the classroom each day inquisitive-so ready to learn the answers to their many questions! What a time of learning it will be in my classroom when my students share their new learning with their classmates!
My Project
These materials will put non-fiction books in the hands of our young readers. These books will provide opportunities to explore a variety of interests. Our students love the gift of new books and are especially drawn to non-fiction books that are filled with vivid photos.
I want to continue to share the love of reading with my students.
My hope is to instill a love for reading and help my students become fluent readers.
With engaged readers, come successful readers. I look forward to expanding my current non-fiction library to increase a variety of high-interests books to meet the diverse interests of my students.
