Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember the first time that you learned about nutrition and exercise? I am hoping to teach my first graders ways that they can be healthy.
I currently teach 27 very sweet first graders in a Title I school located in a high poverty and high crime area in Pennsylvania.
All of my students receive free breakfast and free lunch. Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken.
My Project
I am requesting an iPad mini for my first graders in order for them to learn about nutrition and exercise in a fun and exciting way. There are many apps on the iPad that will support my students in learning about a healthy lifestyle. These apps include: Nutrition and Healthy Eating!, Eat & Move-O-Matic and Max's Plate. Max's Plate will help them learn about the five food groups and good nutrition. There are even apps on PBS kids that will help my students learn about being healthy.
Please help my first graders be the best that they can be.
I want them to learn at an early age how to eat healthy. I also want them to learn ways to have a healthy lifestyle. Thanks so much.
