Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 6th grade at a Title I school. Many of my students face challenges both at home and at school. My goal as their teacher is to help my students love to learning in an environment where they feel safe to explore new worlds, go on new adventures, and learn new things.
To go on these adventures and gain new knowledge, my students crave books at their level.
Many of my students are GATE identified and will benefit from options in where there imaginations travel and what they investigate to expand their knowledge in individual interest areas. Having books at their reading level and in areas they are interesting in a vital to maximizing their learning.
My Project
I want my students to love learning and as their teacher, my goal is to help my students develop this love of learning in an environment filled with books to explore new worlds, go on new adventures, and learn new things.
My students need books to go on these adventures and gain this new knowledge.
My students crave books at their reading level.
These books will give my students more opportunities to learn about far off places and new things. Additionally, the scanner will make sure the books will always be around for them to use and enjoy for many years to come.
