Hugs and high-fives! That is how we start our day. I am teaching kindergarten for a second year. My class is a wonderful group of young children that love coming to school. It is a place to explore, learn, and grow.
I love teaching them how to do new things!
Kindergarten is unlike any other grade. It amazes me how much they grow over the course of the year! I look forward to teaching them complicated math and seeing the light bulbs turn on, the wonders of science and figuring out how things work, or how to get lost in a good book. Wouldn't you like to join us?
I am asking for LeapFrog LeapReader systems and books to provide my students with more opportunities to independently practice their reading skills, and to help them feel like they are really reading. Then, like magic, they will be reading!
The LeapReader is a pen that helps the student sound out words correctly, and has games and activities to help build vocabulary and comprehension.
It also works with headphones, so I don't have to worry about them disturbing others in the class. LeapFrog thinks of everything! I plan to use these as one of the reading centers the kids can choose to go to. I find it is good to have a variety of activities for the kids, which keeps it interesting for them.
