Do you remember how much fun it was to play instruments in elementary music class? Our school doesn't have any instruments except rhythm sticks and boomwhackers (with no books) for general music class. Please help give my students the fun musical education they deserve!
My students attend a rural public school about an hour south of a major city in Pennsylvania.
They are enthusiastic about music and are eager to apply their musical skills by playing instruments in addition to singing in class. They particularly like experimenting with boomwhacker instruments (tap on the floor to the beat), but we currently do not have the resources to purchase instructional books/Cd's to go with them.
My Project
These resources will plant the seeds that will instill a lifelong appreciation and love of music in students. Remember the first time you played an instrument? My students will have the same experience as a result of your generosity and interest in their musical education. Students will be able to directly apply music note and rhythm skills learned in class and build the foundations for possible future participation in band and/or chorus in future years.
My students need rhythm band instruments, as well as handbells, instructional posters, and boomwhacker books and CDs.
By supporting my project, you will be giving the gift of music when it is most influential and critical- in students' first experience in elementary music class. All other future musical opportunities are rooted in early musical education. My students are eager to apply musical skills through performance learned in class- all they need now are the resources!
