Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very enthusiastic and extremely active. My students are extremely eager to come outside to exercise, run, and play sports. I love that they strive to learn and try new games, skills, and sports. Unfortunately due to school closures and "Stay At Home" because of the COVID-19 pandemic, my students have not been able to leave their homes to go to parks, to participate in sports, or even socialize with family members, friends, and neighbors of their own communities. My students have been sitting behind computers or mobile devices to do their school work and have been completing many of my P.E. assignments without equipment. Many of my students are limited in space of where to be active due to where they live. Most of my students live in apartments and can't run around.

My Project

I am a Physical Education teacher and my students are limited in equipment. They are also limited in space of where to be active at home. These days everyone has been asked to stay inside. Students will be able to jump rope for exercise in any area of their home whether inside or outside in their yard. I will be using the jump ropes as part of my circuit training. Students are following my instruction using Zoom and my lessons are becoming uninteresting because they have nothing to use for equipment. The jump rope is an excellent and cost efficient tool I can have them use that will challenge them through these times.
