Our school is located in an affluent neighborhood, but poverty affects a great deal of our kids. I have a diverse group of students and they all have very different backstories. The one common denominator is that they love coming to school.
My students are excited to learn with very little motivation, so I make sure they feel loved and important when they are in my classroom - I want to ensure that more than their basic and educational needs are met.
The majority of my students come from low-income homes and some don't have any support system once they leave school. They are full of energy and have such promise, but many have experienced traumatic events in their lives so school is a place of safety and peace.
My classroom is a place where all kids can reach their potential. Their eyes light up with excitement and they are eager to learn and share their knowledge with others. I want to provide a clean, hygienic place for them to learn.
My Project
Our classroom carpet is professionally cleaned once a year - before the school year starts, which means that any new stains from mud, dirt, or spills, stay there until the following school year. Everyday wear and tear is taking its toll. It is in a sad state.
We need a carpet cleaner to ensure that our classroom is a safe, inviting, clean, and healthy place for everyone to learn.
A carpet cleaner and a few other supplies will allow us to clean our carpet and floors as needed, not only keeping our classroom a healthy and fun place to learn but helping to make my students feel motivated and proud of their learning environment as well..
