Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an amazing group of artists who crave hands-on projects. Whether it is paper, clay, yarn, beads, or recycled materials, my students light up when it's time to create culminating projects.
The conversations during art have helped me to connect with students at a deeper level.
Despite the challenges they've faced during distance learning, my students show up to class each day with great enthusiasm for learning.
My Project
Do you remember when you learned how to write in cursive? And do you remember how it made you feel? For third graders, cursive writing is a rite of passage. It brings them an incredible sense of pride and joy to accomplish cursive writing.
My students have been looking forward to Cursive Lessons since the first day of school.
So far, my students have been practicing on cursive print outs; however, I believe a workbook would accomplish cursive practice more efficiently .
My project goal is to provide each student with a Cursive Workbook so they can practice in class as well as at home. I'm also requesting Art Sketch Pad and markers so students can improve on Directed Art Lessons. By the end of the school year, each student will have a portfolio of Cursive Writing and Sketch Pad to take home, and use them to inspire summer activities.
