My Students
Hello, I am a Head Start teacher at a Title One school. My school provides high quality educational services for children that live at or below the poverty rate for household income.
Despite the children’s financial dilemma, the children come to school eager to learn.
Most of their parents have a little education and/or are low income but all parents try their best to participate and volunteer in the program for great success in their child’s learning and education.
We have a very diverse classroom from Native American, Latino, to Swahili and American.
My Project
The listening center will make a huge difference in my classroom. The children use so much technology at home and in their environments that adding a listening area and proper storage, in our classroom, is a great way to connect home and school. The school are able to provide the essentials needs of literacy for the children, but adding a listening center with proper storage will help increase children’s literacy using technology. Children will be able to read books on their level. Children will be fascinated with reading. The teacher can set up the literacy activity and allow the children great independence while using the literacy activity. The literacy listening activity will be a great use in the classroom to connect home and school together. The children explore on tablets at home, so we want to encourage them using technology for learning at school.
