This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are academically talented and gifted and there are numerous learning styles. They come from different neighborhoods and different socioeconomic backgrounds in Dallas, TX.
They are very inquisitive and develop abstract concepts that require elaborate discussions.
Being gifted, several of them require multiple representations during instruction that relates to their various learning styles.
Traditional lecturing is very routine and many are hesitant to express their thoughts in a group setting. They are more comfortable with creating media and presenting to me in a personal setting.
My Project
My students have historically created campaign posters and submitted projects using computer generated graphics and hand drawn displays. I have purchased an Epson medium format color printer for my classroom. As we all know, the cost of ink can surpass the cost of the printer itself. It has the ability to create 11x17 posters and I already anticipate students wanting to create posters for projects and election campaigns. My students can create professional quality posters and products to display on campus.
My students will greatly appreciate having extra ink available to create projects that stand out and express their ideas.
I would like to thank my donors in advance for finding this project.
