As I start this project, I am one week from meeting a group of amazing children! This is my first year in a third grade classroom, moving from 12 years of experience in PreK, Kindergarten, and Second grades. My classroom will be diverse as I will serve about 25 students in an inclusion setting. I am excited about the challenge and the ways I will learn from all of these awesome kids as I show them how fun and exciting Math & Science can be!
I'm looking for help with flexible seating arrangements. Flexible seating allows students to make choices for seating in the classroom as they work and learn. This is important for all learners - those with and without an IEP. Some kids want a traditional seat while others would prefer a stool. Some would like to sit on the floor while others work well on an exercise ball.
Your contribution will help me empower students so they can focus on the lesson, not think about how comfortable (or uncomfortable) they are.
In my inclusion classroom of about 25 students I will serve typical students as well as those with more diverse learning needs. But all children benefit from the ability to choose what feels best when they're learning.
