Help me give my students the children's book entitled, "Claymates", a teacher resource book about phonological awareness, sheet protectors, and a teacher's manual to help students spell words using patterns.
My school is a rural, Title I school in Tennessee where poverty is high and experiences are limited. These students are pushed every day to achieve high levels of academic excellence, and they work hard daily to achieve with our rigorous expectations.
"It's not who I am but what I do that defines me," is a quote on my Batman door that students see every time they enter and exit my room.
I believe in my learners and want to help them become excellent readers and writers.
My Project
As a reading interventionist, it is imperative that students are able to hear sounds in words before they have the ability to spell, write and even read words. I am asking for a teacher's manual entitled, "The Intensive Phonological Awareness Book" to be able to create lessons these young children need.
I am also requesting a copy of Tim Rasinski's latest manual entitled, "Making and Writing Words" to help students have the ability to learn patterns in our language.
This will help them become better readers, spellers, and writers.
Lastly, I am requesting a children's book entitled, "Claymates" as a fun read for students. It is an ingenious book that will delight students each time they read or hear the story.
