Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students come from many different types of family backgrounds. Over 80% of our students are ELLs and qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
Our amazing students need to be challenged!
These students are special because despite their challenges they come to school excited to learn new things and take on challenges that are presented to them. They are hard workers and kindhearted. I love teaching them and want to give them every chance to thrive in our changing world.
Many of them do not have access to technology and printers at their homes and school is where they need to get those technology experiences. They need the chance to print and present different projects and reports that they create to get the experience and confidence to be in front of all kinds of people.
My Project
Our students have access to some great resources online but often are distracted by all the noise going on in the classroom when the sound is activated. Giving each student their own pair of earbuds would be a great advantage to them being able to focus on their work.
These earbuds would allow students to focus and think critically about what they are doing when they are testing on Chromebooks.
Also, giving them the opportunity to learn responsibility by having them care for and keep track of their own earbuds. Excited to see how they can focus better when they are not distracted with other sounds in the classroom.
