This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Everyone has the ability to create and my Pre-K through 8th-grade students are the most creative of them all. They amaze me daily with the way they create and think about art.
I teach a group of curious learners who desire to explore the world of art.
Most of my students come from low-income households where access to art supplies and experiences is at a minimum. My Pre-K through 8th-grade students are eager to explore all areas of art but due to minimal funding that has not always been possible.
In a world where technology reigns supreme, it is important for children to be knowledgeable of art through a technological lens.
My goal is to further my students' desire to be artistically in tune and provide them with technology that allows them to explore a variety of artistic mediums and techniques. With a new iPad, my students will become explorers, researchers, critical thinkers, and activists in the world of art. Their newfound knowledge will be used to make an impact in their school, communities, and the world.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
