Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a sweet and eager group of learners! I have two classes with 21 students in each class. We are 99% free and reduced lunch and a Title I school. Even though we are Title I, we don't let that get in the way of our learning.
My students have a variety of different backgrounds.
Most of my students are ELL learners and from different countries. They are from different parts of the world, Africa, Central America and South America. Our diverse backgrounds bring a lot of excitement to the class!
My Project
I have a wonderful group of students and would like to give them a chance for "fun" days. I am lucky that they love to learn math and always think what I am teaching is fun, however I would like to give them a chance to have more fun! Every month they get a chance to have a party of their choice based on their behavior. Sometimes pizza, ice cream etc., however this year they requested that the party be board games. I thought that was a great idea until I realized that I do not have any games!
The students need to have fun during indoor recess!
When our students have indoor recess there is nothing for them to do except watch a movie. I would like to give them the chance to play games during indoor recess instead of watch a movie. We are in an area when it is winter season there is snow, so lots of indoor recess. This project would give the students a chance to play games, become social and build teamwork opportunities!
