My class of 22 Pre-K students are active and eager to learn. They are a diverse group of learners who thrive when they can move and manipulate materials to develop their motor skills, social skills, and academic skills.
Play that involves self-selected activities is an essential part of a Pre-K classroom.
We are a Title 1 school district in rural Oklahoma. We are in a military community and over 53% of the students in our district receive free and reduced lunches.
An incubator will be used in our classroom to hatch some chicken eggs. Students will be able to watch this process and care for the chicks when they hatch. Chickens are great for our environment because they love to eat any food scraps/wastes that you have. They also are great at eating bugs so they are a natural way to get rid of bugs. These chicks will join my personal chickens once they are ready to leave the classroom.
Your generous donation to our project will improve our Pre-K classroom by giving children a chance to see the life cycle of a chicken firsthand.
This will change our students' lives for the better as they care for the eggs and ultimately chicks while learning ways to help the earth as well!
