My Students
I have the privilege of teaching a special group of students. They range from the age of 14 to 21. My students have various disabilities. The disabilities range from learning disabled to having a physical or a cognitive disability. My group of eager learners do not let their disabilities stop them from growing and learning. Every day is an adventure in the classroom, and being able to give them the physical tools to get ahead and grow gives me great joy.
The students in my class come in every day, excited and ready to learn new things!
They are eager to see their friends. They are eager to use the materials that are not available to them on a daily basis at home. Seeing their faces glow when they see new things in the classroom makes my day.
My Project
My students are learning skills such as folding clothes, hanging up shirts and pants on hangers, and sorting the clothing by color as well. Each child has a goal that they need to reach, with the new materials these skills they will practice will help reach them.
Because my students are autistic they need to practice the things that we very well take for granted in life.
I am requesting a clothing rack and various clothing to practice how to hang on hangers. The clothing will also be used to practice folding. With your help, we can help the students develop the skills needed for everyday living.
