This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students attend a STEM-focused high school and have incredible dreams and aspirations. My students will not let any barriers hold them back from experiencing adventures and opportunities that will strengthen their academic background. They are an enthusiastic, diverse, and ambitious crew and appreciative of the support their community has given them!

My Project

In preparation for virtual learning, I have been using the free version of Nearpod, an interactive slide show tool that engages students and promotes collaboration. This transforms a traditional Powerpoint into an engaging presentation with questions, checks for understanding, and other interactive tools to keep my students engaged virtually.

With a platinum membership, I will have access to all Nearpod lessons without any additional cost.

With this access, I will be able to allow students to interact with the lessons at their own pace and demonstrate what they have learned by completing interactive activities. Some of these interactive activities include matching, filling in the blank, and even drawing examples of content knowledge!
